The founder
Vlad Gordievsky
Vlad is an MIT-educated mechanical engineer and a father of two. He started San Diego Spray Foam in 2022 after seeing how a previous employer in the home insulation industry priced its work — and deciding he could do the same job honestly and still make a living at it.
Before any of that, he did what a lot of engineers do with a problem: he experimented on his own house. He tried different techniques and materials on his own Colonial home before he ever sold the service, which is where the interest in building science stopped being theoretical.
That is still how the company runs. We specialise in spray foam, but we assess each project on its own terms and recommend the most appropriate solution and materials for the job in front of us — even when that means telling you the expensive option is not the one you need.

The crew
Small team, on purpose
Vlad and his team specialise in spray foam but handle the full range of home insulation work. Staying small is what lets us assess every project individually instead of running a script — and it is why the person who quotes your job is the person who shows up to do it.
It also means we can be honest about capacity. If a job is not a fit, or the timeline you need is not one we can hold, we will tell you that on the first call rather than three weeks in.
